American Southwest Theater Company presents screening of

American Southwest Theatre Company presents a special one night only screening of the cult-classic film, “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” at 8 pm on Friday, August 26 at the Hershel Zohn Theater on the NMSU campus. The screening is co-sponsored by NMSU’s Sexual and Gender Diversity Resource Center.

A cult classic, the film follows one fateful evening in the lives of a clean-cut, newly engaged couple (Susan Sarandon and Barry Bostwick) as their car breaks down outside of transvestite Dr. Franke N. Furter’s (Tim Curry) castle. A movie musical, the film includes classic songs such as “Sweet Transvestite” and “The Time Warp.”
Admission is $6 and movie-goers are encouraged to dress in costume for a costume contest held before the screening. Special “Rocky Horror” prop bags will be available for sale at the theater for $4. Door prizes also will be given away.

Doors will open for ticket sales at 7 p.m. The contest and film will begin at 8 p.m. Call (575) 646-4515 for more information.
